Katie Dannock

Hey there! I’m Katie and I'm studying a Bachelor of Design, co-majoring in Photomedia and Motion Design. From a young age, I had a passion for photography and image making; my camera became an essential wherever I go - it's basically my child. I'm drawn to unique shapes and lighting, as well as surrealism in photography and am always looking for new ways to capture a subject to challenge the viewer's perspective.

Prior to university, I didn't really know what Motion Design was. I decided to study it as I have an interest in film and animation, and before I knew it, I had created some of my favourite projects I've ever made. My eyes have been opened to new possibilities and areas where I could use these new skills - like video game development, VFX, live event motion graphics – I could not be more excited.

I have discovered so many new things about myself and what I'm interested in; proving to myself that I am capable of a lot more than I originally thought. I've found new interests in typography, 3D modelling, art direction, and image manipulation and cannot wait to dive deeper into these areas of design post study.

As a big lover of music - from dancing as a child to listening to music daily to collecting vinyl records - I would love to find a way to be able to combine my passions for music and design in the future, and hopefully as a career.
