Mounting barriers
Here is how the tri-wheels will be used to overcome a barrier obstructing a wheelchair user. This product will need to be used along with anti-tipping devices already installed on the back of the wheelchair.

Tri-Wheelchair Mobility Aid
A compact mobility assistive device that can aid wheelchair users in overcoming frustrating barriers in their environment. It is designed to be compatible with most standard manual wheelchairs as it can be attatched to the leg rest while not taking up too much space or adding much wieght.

Locking Mechanism
The device has a spring bolt that locks the wheels in position when mounting over barriers or when holding the wheels off the ground at rest. By simply pulling the handle the bolt can be retracted and allow the user to re-position the wheels and then release the handle to lock it in that position.

Descending
The device can also be used to lower a user gradually from a higher elevation to a lower level by extending the Tri-Wheels out to lower than the wheelchair once close to the edge.

Resting position
When the user does not need to use the Tri-Wheelchair Mobility Aid they can position the wheels off the ground so that normal handling of the wheelchair is uneffected.
