The world of design has always intrigued me. Throughout my studies in industrial design and interior architecture, I’ve developed a deep interest in how people experience and interact with the spaces around them. I find myself at a point where my passion for thoughtful design and human connection intersect. Moving forward, I hope to shape environments that not only serve a purpose but also evoke a sense of comfort and belonging within the homes and spaces where people spend their most precious time.

Children's Mimic Laundry Hamper

Designed in partnership with Country Road, this laundry hamper was constructed to mimic the action of putting clothes into a washing machine, featuring a playful front hatch that children can interact with. Manufactured through CNC machinery, this easy-to-assemble product can integrate into any home, offering a cute solution to an often mundane task.

Velum

A product designed to offer greater privacy within our homes, as a rapidly changing world now sees our dwellings becoming shared spaces where multiple tasks overlap. This pull-out screen is housed within a sleek aluminum body and supported by tension poles, offering a renter-friendly solution to a seemingly common issue in our modern world.

Droplet

Inspired by the simplicity of a single drop of water, the Droplet Coffee Machine reimagines the everyday ritual of brewing coffee. Its sculptural water tank takes the form of a water droplet, with the interior body being a simple cylinder form, making it easy and inviting to use. Designed with precision and elegance, it combines modern materials and intuitive functionality to create a refined brewing experience that looks as good as the coffee tastes.

Binguard

A design for Avail Design, the BinGuard is a simple yet robust steel frame designed to secure household bins and prevent them from tipping over. Crafted from durable stainless steel, it provides added stability and safety, particularly for elderly users, by keeping bins upright and easy to access. Its clean, functional form ensures long-lasting protection without compromising on aesthetics or usability.

Rainfall

The Rainfall Shower System redefines everyday luxury with a sculptural, minimalist form and advanced functionality. Featuring a geometric rain head with multiple spray settings, it allows users to customise their shower experience, from a gentle rainfall to a focused stream. Precision-engineered for performance and durability, Cascade blends clean design with comfort, creating a refined and immersive bathing experience.

Acknowledgement of Country

The School of Design and Architecture respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners and knowledge-keepers of the lands, waters and sky that surround us, where we work, learn, create, communicate and make place. We recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded and this always was and will always be Wurundjeri Country. We are dedicated to the notion of design to make a better world and we acknowledge that making tools, shaping place, sharing stories, making meaning, wayfinding and collaborating have long been and continue to be both central and integral to First Peoples' cultures. We recognize that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ cultural contributions have continued relevance to design practice and commit to: reconciling ancestries of design and contemporary practice as well as pursuing culturally and professionally appropriate ways to engage with a diverse population of colleagues, industries and clients. In a time of treaty-making and voice we understand that there are overlaps between caring for Country and the sustainable production of goods, services, experiences, products and buildings.

Guided by the principles of respect, reconciliation, and reciprocity we undertake to indigenising and decolonising design practice by dismantling colonial structures and challenging biases that have marginalised Indigenous voices and design.

As students of SoDA you will be given opportunities to both engage with and educate yourself in Indigenous creative practices and cultural protocols through a lens of inclusivity, diversity, respect, mutual understanding, inter-cultural dialogue in all aspects of design practice. Indigenous people have been telling stories, making tools, and connecting to Country through visual media, placemaking and place marking for more than 60,000 years and these practices are part of an ongoing, evolving and live tradition.
