Nicholas Gregory

Hi, my name is Nick,

Growing up, I have always been interested in how things worked, I was always playing and building Lego and trying to create new objects every time. That trend has continued my whole life, and design came to fruition later in my teenage years, dabbling in arts, architecture, and graphic design before settling on Industrial Design as I came into my tertiary studies.

My passion and love for design stems from my ability to always keep learning and understanding how things in the world work and that will never end! I hope to hear from you soon.

FlexiSole - Capstone 2

My final year project, I decided to challenge myself in soft goods design and attempt to adopt a modern footwear approach to a rather stagnent footwear industry.

FlexiSole is a product built upon the idea of having a modular system of soles and uppers to be able to swap in and out parts based on your needs as a user!

Moonlight (AboutSpace) - Professional Design Attributes

In collaboration with AboutSpace lighting, this project was aimed at a commercial and industrial pendant solution designed around including a certain set of materials and aesthetics.

The design needed to incorporate felt as its main material and a secondary material such as plywood to be able to evoke a quiet and calming space that reduces sound frequencies.

Apollo (Country Road) - Professional Design Attributes

In collaboration with Country Road, this project was focused around acting as a double edged sword, as both a feeder and storage unit for small multi-day trips to country or beach Victoria.

The design was honed in on keeping the design style of Country Road and the Australiana vibe, keeping its rich history in touch with the product and trying to adapt the material

Comet - Digital Manufacturing

The Comet tap was a project focused around advancements in digital manufacturing, such as digital sketching, taking those sketches into Solidworks and designing with references.

The project ultimately pushed my skills in understanding a completely new concept, trying to understand how plumbing and hot/cold plugs work and the proper design metrics.

Archie's Kennel - Furniture Design

Archie's Kennel is a furniture project aimed at redesigning conventional dog kennels that feel too enclosing and stringent on space. I wanted to make an open space design to allow a comforting home and promoting pets to be more included in the home space.
