Angela Gardiner

In 2016, I made the decision to pursue a career change into interior design. While continuing to work in case management within the workers’ compensation industry, I began a part-time Diploma of Interior Design. Upon completing the diploma in 2018 — and following a redundancy — I realised my learning journey was far from over. While researching university options for my son, I discovered the Bachelor of Interior Architecture program at Swinburne University. I applied, was accepted, and began my degree in 2019.

Throughout my studies, I continued to work part-time in roles that aligned with my evolving career goals. Progress was steady but challenging, and there were moments when I questioned whether I could complete the degree. After taking a break from study in 2023, I chose to persevere. Now, as I reach the conclusion of my Honours year in 2025, I reflect with pride on the growth, resilience, and accomplishments represented in this portfolio.
