Aaron Bosito

I’m Aaron-Jay Bosito and I’m a Motion Design student with autism. I came to Swinburne to improve my studies not only by making designs, but by writing and reading and communicating with others including the people I didn't know before.

Being a person with autism can be different from others, but I am unique. and wanted to feel comfortable around them.

I’m mostly interested in drawing and art, but I’m also interested in graphic design. Swinburne helped me improved my interests by studying and learn interesting things such as posters, animation, environments, characters and product covers, and I hope one day I’ll be an independent artist and sometimes starting my own business.

All the designs I made are quite simple but it’s unique, I’ve made designs and animations to encourage the people who are interested, no matter what they’re like. I mostly did digital art for my designs for them.

My time at study can be tough at first, but I learned about them and must improve that I did well creating the designs. I hope my designs will be good enough and as a person with autism, I was able to speak clearly and interact with people that will gain my confidence.

Yellow Jack Sensory Toys

These are the sensory toys that I made for ThinkPlus which includes Jack the Chameleon in yellow acrylic. These are made for children with autism that it will be able to feel the textures of the body.

Federation Square Poster

This is the poster that I made for Federation Square for the festival. It has abstract designs of the building.

Accordion Book

This is my accordion book that has mini rectangular pages of the cut out designs represent the piano with white, blue and black with many parts of the piano and music symbols.

Nike Ad Video Projection

This is the video projection of the Nike Huarache shoes ad with six boxes with twelve videos, two in each box.

Karaoke Room

This is the 3D environmental modelling design of the Karaoke room that made you a great time with people you know.

Guided by the principles of respect, reconciliation, and reciprocity we undertake to indigenising and decolonising design practice by dismantling colonial structures and challenging biases that have marginalised Indigenous voices and design.

As students of SoDA you will be given opportunities to both engage with and educate yourself in Indigenous creative practices and cultural protocols through a lens of inclusivity, diversity, respect, mutual understanding, inter-cultural dialogue in all aspects of design practice. Indigenous people have been telling stories, making tools, and connecting to Country through visual media, placemaking and place marking for more than 60,000 years and these practices are part of an ongoing, evolving and live tradition.
