Lucien Housego

I’m a Product Design Engineering student at Swinburne University, motivated by the challenge of turning ideas into practical, human-centered solutions. What drives me is the balance between engineering precision and creative design to find ways to make products that are both technically sound and intuitive to use. I’m curious by nature and thrive on projects that push me to explore new technologies, test materials, and learn through prototyping. I enjoy the full process, from early sketches to production-ready outcomes, making sure each step is guided by research, usability, and sustainability. For me, design is about more than function, it’s about creating experiences that improve everyday life.

Spark

This project presents a luxury still and sparkling water mixer tap designed for premium hospitality venues such as Music Room, Melbourne. Crafted from brushed bronze and influenced by hi-fi design and minimalist architecture, the tap combines refined aesthetics with engineered functionality. The tap incorporates a mechanism that allows the handle to lift independently of the head, with serviceable components engineered for investment casting and optimised for long-term durability.

True Feel

This project reimagines a glue gun for DIY users. True Feel is a durable, intuitive tool with balanced design, soft-grip comfort, and clear safety cues. The True Feel glue gun delivers a refined, user-centered design that balances ergonomic comfort, intuitive safety features, and sustainable material choices, tailored for experienced DIY users.

Tabstack

Tabstack is a modular, stackable pill organiser designed for simplicity, portability, and personalisation. Each disc stores a day’s medication and rotates to reveal clearly divided compartments for scheduled doses. The design prioritises intuitive use for individuals with cognitive challenges, while offering customisable covers and trays, easy assembly, and a sleek, modern aesthetic. Iterative prototyping refined size, depth, and functionality, resulting in a practical, travel-friendly solution adaptable to diverse user needs.

Solmate

This project delivers a rugged, solar-powered outdoor light designed for camping and hiking. The product features a waterproof, impact-resistant housing with a polycarbonate shield, silicone over-moulded grip, and integrated carabiner cut-out for easy attachment. It uses a high-efficiency solar panel, LED optics with a reflective chamber for maximum brightness, and a rechargeable battery for sustainable energy use. Iterative prototyping refined durability, assembly, and usability, resulting in a compact, reliable lighting solution for outdoor enthusiasts.
