Nguyen Hoang Nam Bui

Nguyen Hoang Nam Bui is a Master of Architecture student at Swinburne University of Technology whose work explores the intersection between social purpose, spatial experience, and material storytelling. Building on an Honours degree in Interior Architecture back in 2021, Nam’s practice focuses on how design can restore connection, belonging, and well-being within contemporary urban life.

Professionally, Nam works with Hayball Architects for the past 4 years, contributing to projects that span student housing, community spaces, and large-scale residential developments. His experience in practice has shaped a strong interest in socially sustainable housing and community-driven design models.

Nam’s design process is grounded in empathy and experimentation, combining digital workflows, architectural detailing, and psychogeographic research to reveal how people inhabit and emotionally respond to space. His recent academic projects investigate themes of learning environments, public engagement, and the cultural narratives embedded within everyday materials.

Beyond academia, Nam continues to develop Linked Space, his family’s creative studio, which bridges architecture, sculpture, and craftsmanship to create meaningful spatial and artistic experiences.

Through this multidisciplinary approach, Nam aims to redefine architecture as a medium for care, dialogue, and collective imagination, crafting environments that are both beautiful and transformative.
