Hi, I'm Nathan Scanlon.

I am a graduating Product Design Engineer student from Swinburne University.

My time at Swinburne has been spent gaining the knowledge and experience to become an effective professional product designer. The skills I've learned have made me particularly proficient in 3D modelling, rapid prototyping, design for manufacture and user-centred design. I have been able to hone my skills through their application within my studies as well as in industry settings. These industry settings include valuable placements with Cobalt Design, Moduware Inc. and 7-Eleven.

My final year research project was spent collaborating with TOM: Melbourne, an organisation specialising in creating solutions that improve the lives of people living with disability. The product that eventuated was an inclusive sleep apnoea mask harness that makes the process of mask application and removal easier and more practical for those with reach and dexterity limitations. The product achieves this by incorporating a smart configuration of straps and fasteners into the mask and machine setup.
