Hi! My name is Mai. I'm currently in the last year of my Bachelor of Design, majoring in motion design.

With a strong passion for visual storytelling and a relentless pursuit of excellence, I always want to illustrate my ideas by creating 2D and 3D motion graphics. I personally think that bringing movement to static objects is extremely wonderful in the creative world. I have a broad range of interest in both 2D and 3D graphics. During my academic years at Swinburne, I spent time studying in various fields, such as 3D environment design, UI/UX design, and game design, to better understand my strengths.

From my point of view, every fantasy world begins with simple sketches and vague ideas. I want to add movement to those teeny, tiny ideas and give them their own journey.

The original idea of this motion graphic is to illustrate the life cycle in the looping video

Melbourne Design Week | Promotional Motion Graphic

The product is a university assignment submission from one department. The purpose of this video is to create digital commercial video. After conducting independent investigation on a number of well-known events, I've chosen Melbourne Design Week as the focus of this promotional video. In 2023, MDW will be guided by three thematic pillars: transparency, currency, and legacy." (information from MDW website). From those key works, I choose ‘transparency’ and add another key word which I personally think it is suitable for this event: flexibility.

The Sweet Wonderland | VR Motion Graphic

The product is a university assignment submission. The aim of this project is to push me to expand my spatial design skills by creating a promotional 360-degree virtual reality (VR) experience. The aim of this video is to create VR promotional video content. Yochi is my choosen brand, which is a Melbourne-based self-serve frozen yoghurt brand, and I'll be creating a VR experience with the idea of creating a fantasy sweet land.

Cozy Pottery | 3D Motion Graphic

This is a modest indie 3D project aimed at creating an environment that makes viewers feel comfortable, pleasant, and relaxed. This local ceramic shop concept evolved from that initial thought in my mind. Cosy Pottery was produced with 3D areas with two themes: morning and night, after some idea sketches and revisions. This is a walkthrough video for this environment.
