Hello! My name is Alisha (Al) and I’m a passionate motion and graphic designer always excited to create and collaborate with other people and brands. I have an enthusiasm for communicating messages through a visual means and creative lens. I’ve always taken a particular interest in animation and illustration, stemming from my love for creating things.

I consider myself a curious person who draws inspiration from the world around me. I enjoy exploring different mediums and am always expanding my horizons with new inspirations, processes, and technology. I’m keen continue developing my skills in combining new 3D workflows with 2D elements and injecting motion into traditional graphic design.

In 2023 I completed my Bachelor of Design, with a major in Motion Design and a minor in Communication Design, and prior to this course I completed a Certificate III in Screen & Media. I’m always looking forward to learning more and challenging myself in and beyond the realms of design and motion.

State of Exception – Publication Design

A monothematic publication visually representing the information presented in “Baring Life and Lifestyle in the Non-Place” by Sarah Sharma (2009). I implemented mixed media and image-making techniques including photography, editing, illustration, and type as image.

Great Barrier Reef – Information Motion Graphics

This explainer video was produced from a brief that asked for an information motion graphics project that relayed statistical information in an illustrative presentation. As I find the issue of coral bleaching a pressing one that needs more attention, especially around The Great Barrier Reef, I chose to research and represent this. I used a simple illustrative style to communicate my messages with a focus on linework and pastel colours.

Tucker Trucks - Branding

This brief asked for a festival guide, promotional poster, and merchandise concepts for a fictional food truck festival dubbed “Tucker Trucks”. Consisting of 16 pages, the festival guide is intended to be used at the event and taken home as a souvenir and requires a unique visual flair. A bright and simple graphic approach was taken with inclusion of retro-style character illustrations that are present across the branding.

Sticker sheet still – Motion Graphics Indent

A still from an indent created to promote the Big Design Market in Melbourne. This sequence shows an illustrative representation of a sticker sheet with a peeling animation. Throughout the whole indent a focus is placed on bright colours and communicating craftsmanship and fun.

The Zephyr Room – Immersive Motion Projection

The Zephyr Room is an immersive guide breathwork experience animated by a group of four for the Motion Graphics Capstone. The full sequence spans over 14 minutes and features slow-paced evolving abstract graphics. I worked on producing the warm-up sequence.
