Hi, I'm Marco Simonovski. I’m a Communications Designer with a marketing background. I love developing creative solutions underpinned by strong communication strategies. I know that the strategy informing creative decisions is crucial to creating impactful outcomes.

I hold Bachelor's degrees in Design and Business, with majors in Communications Design and Marketing. I studied Design and Business because I strongly believe in the power of creativity and design thinking to make the world a better place, and I believe that business is the most effective way to maximise this impact.

I have worked on projects for Swinburne University of Technology and FeeSynergy. I am also currently working on bringing a not-for-profit concept to life. My passion for architecture, film, fashion and product design inspired me to learn 3D modelling, 3D animation and 3D printing. Additionally, I recently began designing, producing and selling decor items.

Nothing excites me more than learning about and experiencing new things. This includes cities I’ve never visited, melodies I have not yet heard and character arcs with endings I haven't seen before.

If you're looking for an effective and unique design outcome, or just want to talk about art, feel free to reach out!

Curvatecture

Curvatecture is a Victoria-based natural building company. I developed a modern, minimalist brand identity to overcome the biases that consumers have towards alternative building companies. I created 3D renders as examples of photographs of their buildings, and created a 3D animation about their building technique.

The Last Days of Detroit

This publication by Mark Binelli explores the decline of Detroit over the decades and the impact this has had on the American Dream. The visual language was developed to evoke a sense of decay, but also of a chance to regrow. Denim was used to bind the book (thanks to binding by Ort Bindery), symbolic of the working class origins of the city of Detroit.

Laugh Lab Comedy Festival

Comedy is an art form that requires constant experimentation for new material to be developed and refined. This comedy festival plays on the theme of experimentation, with a visual language inspired by scientific symbolism, as well as the bold and fun nature of comedy.

Trek Cycling

Packaging is traditionally thought of as a means to protect and promote the product, but what if it was also a part of the product? This re-usable bike light packaging concept is a fabric loop that houses the product, and when flipped inside-out, becomes a reflective arm band. This is to increase the visibility of its users on the road at night.

The Big Picture

The Big Picture is my not-for-profit idea that would provide people experiencing homelessness with a means to gain income through expression. The concept would enable them to create and monetize art through a print-on-demand marketplace. The visual language is simultaneously simple and loud, celebrating the power of creativity whilst not overshadowing the creativity being exhibited.
