Mohit is an Indian-Indonesian visual designer and Photomedia student based in Melbourne, graduating with a Bachelor of Design at the end of 2024. His work is shaped by the blend of cultures he grew up in, drawing inspiration from both sides. Mohit loves exploring visual storytelling through photography, design, and mixed media, always looking for ways to connect, create, and immerse himself in different creative environments.

During his time at Swinburne, he completed the UniLink Diploma of Design and the SoDA Accelerator Internship Program, where he had the opportunity to work with real clients and develop industry projects.

When he's not designing, you can probably find him discovering new music, doing the daily sudoku, chasing the sun, bouldering, or, more recently, bookbinding.

samadhi

Samadhi, was a semester-long project where I explored Indian wisdom and yoga through a mix of photography, illustration, and design. I handled the photography, created illustrations, and designed the entire layout of the book, blending ancient Indian miniature art styles with a modern aesthetic. Beyond the book, I extended the project into branding, creating an animation for billboards and social media. This project was a journey of self-discovery, allowing me to reconnect with my roots while pushing my creative boundaries.

seeing nothing

My capstone project, seeing nothing, reflects on my time as an international student and the subtle ways time passed by unnoticed. Inspired by the paradox of “doing nothing”, the project captures the quiet moments and subtle changes in both people and space within Melbourne’s urban landscape.

Through photography, sound design, and visual storytelling, the project captures the subtle shifts in both people and spaces, moments that slip by quietly until they’re gone. accompanying the photos are soundwaves that represent the invisible soundscapes of these moments, capturing the whispers of life. thousands of conversations, yet the walls peel away with memories no one remembers.

treasures and tales

Treasures and Tales explores the personal significance of everyday objects through portraits and storytelling. Featuring items like a bass guitar, cycle, necklace, and a houseplant, the project captures the emotional stories behind each treasure.

My roles included photography, art direction, and magazine layout design, combining visuals and narratives to highlight the unique connections people have with their treasures

undertones

Undertones is a photobook capturing the themes of isolation and solidarity in Melbourne. Inspired by the city's quiet moments and hidden corners, the project explores the contrast between its vast urban landscape and individual insignificance. Each photograph reflects a sense of collective solitude, where people share the same spaces yet remain disconnected.

For this project, I took on photography, art direction, photobook design, and layout design. Additionally, I designed an AR exhibition to complement the photobook, extending the experience through Adobe Aero.
