Ruby Bittner

I'm a digital designer fueled by all things kitch, cute, and creative. I'm a jack-of-all-trades and can slot in many areas of design. In my downtime, I enjoy being crafty, sewing and making things for myself to wear & posting videos showcasing the outfits I make and wear to Kpop concerts. I have great skills in social media marketing and am always up for a good challenge or learning curve. I mainly work in graphic design, photography, and mixed media. However, I'm always trying to experiment with new techniques or curious to see how compositions are constructed, and then recreating them to build my personal skill set.

I always embrace community where possible. As someone who is from a small regional Victorian town, community is where businesses flourish, thrive and inspire the next generation. I hope my designs create the same thoughts, feelings, and actions that my community built for me.

I enjoy working with all different people; bringing a positive attitude to each interaction and always finding delight in conversing with clients to help find a unique vision for the ideal end product. My bubbly, positive, and social personality helps bring together conversations with both heart and soul. These interactions are the foundation of my designs, and I'm so excited to see what comes next in my journey.

Acknowledgement of Country

The School of Design and Architecture respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners and knowledge-keepers of the lands, waters and sky that surround us, where we work, learn, create, communicate and make place. Guided by the principles of respect, reconciliation, and reciprocity we undertake to indigenising and decolonising design practice by dismantling colonial structures and challenging biases that have marginalised Indigenous voices and design.

As students of SoDA you will be given opportunities to both engage with and educate yourself in Indigenous creative practices and cultural protocols through a lens of inclusivity, diversity, respect, mutual understanding, inter-cultural dialogue in all aspects of design practice. Indigenous people have been telling stories, making tools, and connecting to Country through visual media, placemaking and place marking for more than 60,000 years and these practices are part of an ongoing, evolving and live tradition.
