Emily Wookey is one of the Communication Design Honours students graduating this year. She has experience freelancing, as well as working as a Junior Designer with Twelve Creative as part of the Swinburne Industry Placement program.

With a passion for craft and hand-generated design, Emily loves to incorporate elements of these into each project. Coming from a Certificate IV in Design with a fine arts focus prior to the Honours Degree, she has a strong foundation in the manual skills behind design, including painting and drawing. In each design project she tries to inject a human element into the very digital-focused sphere.

Emily is a lover of all things stories; books, films, history, and especially that of you and your company. Many pieces of her work evidence the use of the visual language of design as a storytelling device to help form strongly rationalised design work. On her days off, you’ll often find her seeking more stories, curled up with a good book or movie, coffee in hand and looking out for the graphic design in them. With a last name like Wookey, Star Wars is likely on the cards (it may be Wookey not Wookiee, but Chewie (the pup) says to say hi!).
