Motion Design

Hi there everyone, I am Samanda Vella a Motion designer, Illustrator, and Marketer. I have completed a double degree at Swinburne in Marketing and Motion design, and I am always looking to expand my knowledge and explore my creativity. I want to create designs that people will enjoy and inspire their own creativity, for a brighter future. Creativity and inspiration is all around us and can be used to improve people's lives, be multi-functional, and help the environment. I have a very laid-back personality and get along with anyone, whether it be by myself or in a team. I recently completed a 12-month professional placement with Swinburne Digital Performance Team.

Projection mapping - KDA

An assessment, to project a promotional video onto a tower of boxes. First time using projecting mapping and I really enjoyed it. I used the band KDA to promote as I like the song Pop/stars and the style, so I don't own anything. It is created by created by Riot Games and can see the characters in League of Legends. It has a vibrant style, that is moody, empowering, futuristic and dynamic. So I tried to implement all these qualities into my projection map to highlight the band and who they are. I would like to do this and this style more in the future.

Motion Design Plus

An assessment to promote a design event, so I took photos of my family used some images from the website, and modified them for the motion design. In the video, I explained the process of what the event is and what you do, in a vibrant and neon style. I also created a bumper, socials, and tile. This is also something I want to do more on and in this style.

Motion graphic - flora and fauna

An assessment, Motion Graphic design to design a flora and fauna theme starting and ending on the same chosen shape. In this case it was a diamond using Cinema 4D. I went with a cartoony style with overshot and using Illustrator to enhance everything to make everything more entertaining.

PeterMac - Patient ID procedure video

An assessment, to create an informative video for the client PeterMac, a cancer hospital to inform the food service staff how to use the created poster to help in their work to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. We went for a simple style with some detail to ensure that people can understand by viewing the video only, we also used diverse characters and used a simple word style so people who first language is not English can understand.

Demon slayer short animation

I created a wide range of short animations using logos, most of which from my favorite anime and brands. I have create Demon slayer, My hero acadamia, Black clover, KDA, Cat's eye and more using different programs such as After Effects and Cinema 4D. These can all be found on my youtube account

Acknowledgement of Country

Guided by the principles of respect, reconciliation, and reciprocity we undertake to indigenising and decolonising design practice by dismantling colonial structures and challenging biases that have marginalised Indigenous voices and design.

As students of SoDA you will be given opportunities to both engage with and educate yourself in Indigenous creative practices and cultural protocols through a lens of inclusivity, diversity, respect, mutual understanding, inter-cultural dialogue in all aspects of design practice. Indigenous people have been telling stories, making tools, and connecting to Country through visual media, placemaking and place marking for more than 60,000 years and these practices are part of an ongoing, evolving and live tradition.
