Hello! I’m Monica, a recent motion design graduate. I have a great passion for motion design, taking inspiration from eclectic late 20th century aesthetics and early CGI renderings. I have honed my motion design skills to create unique and captivating videos. Passionate about motion design both within and outside of my studies, I cannot wait to begin working professionally in the field. If I’m not working on a design project you can find me listening to new music, playing 20+ year old video games, and thinking about my next design project.

Loop De Loop

This project focused on creating a looped animation using 3D graphics. Responding to the theme of Energy and using the letter X as inspiration, this short video sees an 8-ball traverse an Escher-esque structure. Through its travels around the playroom illusion, the ball bounces across two xylophones; bringing immersive sound design together with
captivating visuals.

Personal Projects

A selection of short motion graphics created for social media. These 2D and 3D projects explore looped logo motion designs, low poly 3D modelling and UV mapping, and abstract pixelated ASCII-inspired visuals.

Peter McCallum Patient Identification Procedure: Details for Patients

My motion design capstone project involved working within a team to create a patient-facing video for the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre. This project provided the opportunity to create a clear, informative motion graphics video incorporating 2D character rigging. Beyond this however, the project gave valuable experience in working and designing as a team, delegating work and maintaining an efficient workflow, meeting WIP deadlines, and communicating efficiently and effectively within the group and with correspondents at Peter Mac.

Virtual Reality Promotional Experience

Inspired by retro CGI renders, this VR video creates an immersive experience to promote the CASIO vintage line of watches. In designing for virtual reality, it was crucial to consider where to keep the viewer’s attention and how to guide them through the experience.
