Janette Tran

My name is Janette Tran, an international student from Vietnam, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture. My inspiration to pursue architecture began with a lifelong love for drawing and crafting. Since childhood, I have always been fascinated by the way ideas and expression can come to life through lines, forms, and imagination.

Throughout my studies, I’ve discovered that architecture is not limited to construction alone; it’s an interconnected field that bridges art, storytelling, and experimentation. This curiosity has led me to explore beyond traditional boundaries, exploring typography, packaging, and visual communication.

I am fond of research and documentation. I enjoy understanding how things work, from the concept stage to the way people interact with space and design. Although I am still exploring my path as a designer, every project helps me grow closer to defining my creative identity. I hope that you enjoy discovering my work as much as I enjoy creating it.

INKD - Museum of Street Art and Urban Culture

Street art, a movement born from rebellion and expression, first exploded across the subways of New York City, where young artists used spray paint and walls to make their voices heard. It later evolved beyond vandalism, becoming a language of the people, constantly redefined by new generations.

INKD Museum is designed as a living canvas, an expressive space that unfolds the city’s stories through art and movement. Each section reveals a different layer of street culture: from graffiti, music, and skateboarding to its contemporary evolution across walls and railways. The museum connects artists, skaters, and visitors, blending exhibition, performance, and public space into one.

NOMA - North Wharf Maritime

NOMA, located at North Wharf, Docklands, reimagines the urban waterfront through a hybrid programme of culture, commerce, and community. The design integrates artist-focused programmes, temporary residential units and public exhibition areas that activate the harbour edge.

Its circular structure accommodates modular apartments, creative studios, and public courtyards. At its core, NOMA is a vertical and horizontal village, fostering interaction between residents and visitors. It connects past and present while celebrating the evolving relationship between art, industry, and the waterfront.

Studio 1 - Artists' House

My first studio marked the beginning of my journey in architecture. The project explored the design of a co-living residence for two artist families, focusing on shared spaces and massing relationships.

It wasn’t perfect, but it taught me valuable lessons and skills that I continue to apply throughout my studies. It encouraged me to think critically and understand the balance between space, people, and form.
