Tyler Lazzaro

Hello, I’m Tyler, a curious and motivated designer currently finishing my Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) (Honours).

I’m driven by a genuine love for creativity and problem-solving, always looking for ways to bring clarity, meaning, and a bit of personality into my work.

I’m especially drawn to Swiss design and its focus on structure, balance, and precision. There’s something about that sense of order that really resonates with me, but I also like bending the rules a little to see what new ideas can come from it. My process is about exploring how systems and creativity can coexist, and how design can communicate in a way that feels both considered and human.

I approach every project as a chance to grow and learn, to test new ideas, and to deliver something I’m proud of. Reliability and curiosity are two things I always try to bring to the table.

Thanks for visiting!

GradX 2024 Identity - Celebrating 50 years of Industry Collaboration

ISTD 2025 Brief 1: A Type Specimen for the Future — A Neue Haas Unica Type Specimen

My ISTD project is a conceptual type specimen that reimagines Hermann Hesse’s The Glass Bead Game through the lens of Swiss typography. Using Neue Haas Unica as the core typeface, I explore how typographic clarity and structure can reflect the book’s philosophical ideas. By dissecting Chapter 11 into themes and emotions, the treatment of typography becomes a narrative device, visually expressing tension, rhythm, and defiance within the text. Rather than presenting a traditional specimen, I’m creating a book that blends literary storytelling with typographic systems, inviting designers to experience type as both functional and expressive. The project examines how order and precision, central to Swiss design, can coexist with creative disruption to generate meaning and evoke emotion.

Bureau Promotional Posters

At The Bureau, we aimed to boost our presence at Swinburne through guerrilla marketing. Bold, eye‑catching posters were placed around campus to engage students, later adapted into social media posts that reached thousands, increasing The Bureau’s visibility and creative impact.

Swinburne Student Association Brand Identity

The Swinburne Student Association sought a fresh rebrand following the merger of two student bodies. The new identity symbolises the building blocks of students coming together to form the backbone of the school, fostering unity and a strong campus presence.
