Lily Latchford

I’m Lily Latchford, a passionate communication designer with a minor in marketing, committed to shaping the future of design through creative thinking. I thrive in team environments, connecting with others and continuously exploring new ideas and techniques.

I enjoy the creative process and believe that experimentation and enjoyment often lead to the best outcomes. I love working with analogue materials and exploring how emerging technologies, including AI, can broaden creative possibilities.

Design is a tool for innovation, allowing me to work alongside inspiring individuals and develop visual solutions that respond to real-world challenges. My favourite projects combine strategic thinking with purposeful design, and I’m motivated by the opportunity to create positive change.

I balance my design work with a role in disability support at a primary school and love the human side of what I do. When I’m not creating, you’ll find me with my trained therapy dog (my sidekick and obsession), sipping coffee, making jewellery, or winning a game of Monopoly Deal!

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Remake

Developed in response to the International Society of Typographic Designers brief, the remake is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic story, exploring themes of mental health and self-discovery for a modern audience.

Designed to promote reading in an era dominated by digital media, the publication incorporates interactive elements to actively engage readers. The project applies typography and layout strategies to enhance narrative flow and reader experience. I collaborated closely with production teams to oversee print setup and binding, ensuring the final publication met both creative and technical standards.

Open House Melbourne

In partnership with Studio Payne, Open House Melbourne requested a campaign for their event to encourage people to explore new places in Melbourne. The year’s theme, Rediscover Your City, required an eye-catching and vibrant identity that captures its excitement while paying homage to architecture and design.

The concept captures what happens inside the buildings, drawing on archival media from past music, food, and cultural events to create a nostalgic yet energetic campaign.

Maling Road

Maling Road is a renowned retail precinct in Canterbury, home to more than fifty Edwardian-style shops set within a village atmosphere. This printed guide targets the domestic tourism market, communicating key tourism considerations through a strong focus on design conventions, hierarchy and typographic layout.

Alongside my work in design, I create handmade jewellery pieces as a personal hobby. I mainly work with gemstones, though I hope to work with silver in the future. Each piece is designed, crafted, and photographed, and is available for purchase at Reflections Jewellery on Maling Road.

Parliament of Victoria

These resources reflect my interest in education and the role of design in making information visually engaging. While completing contract work for the Parliament of Victoria, I worked within strict brand guidelines to ensure consistency and clarity across materials, making information accessible for students.

I applied production knowledge to prepare files for both digital and print distribution while managing deadlines. The resources were printed and used throughout Parliament to enhance visitor navigation and user experience, and they were also sent to schools to support educational programs.

S'more Design

S’more Design requested a timeless identity that reinforces their brand values: humble, simple, and curated. The resulting brand guidelines serve as a comprehensive toolkit, providing clear direction for all future communications across digital and print platforms. These guidelines help maintain a cohesive aesthetic while strengthening brand recognition.

To further support client engagement, S’more also requested a set of flexible, on-brand Instagram templates designed for ongoing use and a consistent social media presence.
