Casey Bourekas

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to explore at my work. My name is Casey Bourekas and I'm a 2025 graduate of Communication Design Honours. I've been creative my whole life, so as soon as I discovered graphic design, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue. I love design because it allows me to visually communicate meanings and messages that help people/brands express themselves to reflect their values and identity.

Throughout my degree at Swinburne, I've also had the opportunity to complete an internship at a multidisciplinary design studio and work on freelance jobs, which has helped me improve my skills with every new experience. I'm super passionate about design and have a special appreciation for shape, colour and typography which I think shines through a lot of my work.

I can't wait to continue learning, creating and experimenting with every new project that comes my way. Special thanks to all the teachers, mentors, coworkers, and classmates I’ve had the chance to learn from over the years. I’ve grown so much through every project and perspective, and I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned into the industry.

This brand identity carefully balances the playfulness and curiosity of young students while maintaining the trust and professionalism necessary to appeal to parents and educators. A bright, simple colour palette paired with rounded letterforms of varying heights creates a sense of energy and fun, immediately engaging the child audience. At the same time, clean layouts and refined applications ensure a sense of credibility and reliability across touchpoints.

Branding assets including primary and secondary logos, character illustrations, and a series of adaptable patterns were created to extend the identity across packaging, print, and digital materials.

The Friedman Lectures on Cryptology

This publication was created in response to ISTD brief 'interactions'. It explores secret messaging as a communication system, specifically looking at wartime cryptology. This publication takes the form of a published version of the author's original documents, intended to function as an educational art book. Styled to reflect the era in which the content takes place, it offers readers an experience that feels both authentic and immersive.

Through layered visuals, redacted elements and references to cryptographic techniques, the publication invites the audience to learn about this history in a meaningful way. Typography plays an important role in showing the theme of secrecy and encryption, making the publication more engaging and impactful.

Grounded 02 Visual Identity + Launch Material

The brand identity for the Grounded 02 brick balances strength, durability, and trustworthiness with an approachable, sustainable identity. Rounded forms and generous spacing convey friendliness, while the bold logotype and stacked line elements reinforce the grounded, architectural nature of the product. A natural, earthy colour palette complements the tone of the bricks without directly matching them.

These branding elements come together in a product launch brochure, sample swatch cards and packaging, trade display, social media launch and an edm created for Australian architects, builders, and designers.

Open House Melbourne - Re/Discover Your City 2024

Open House Melbourne is an annual festival which celebrates architecture and the built environment. This festival provides access to buildings and public spaces that are not normally open to the public and offers a program of open buildings, guided tours, talks, and events that explore Melbourne's architecture and urban planning.

This visual identity is constructed by a pattern which abstracts the city's built environment into a bold, attention grabbing pattern. This pattern allows for reconstruction to fit a range of physical and digital outcomes, and can be incorporated with both type and imagery.

The concept reframes sustainability as both a personal and practical choice, showing that small lifestyle changes can help save money while saving the planet.

This app prototype developed in AdobeXD features a clean and structured interface that allows users to easily track their environmental impact. Data visualisation and habit-tracking features encourage accountability and motivation, while the minimal, contemporary aesthetic appeals to a student audience.
