Sophie Bronte

Hey I’m Sophie, a Communications Designer from Swinburne! During my journey in the Bachelor of Design program, I have learned many new ways to get creative and find inspiration. I love staying on the lookout for fresh design trends and styles that will help me to grow and improve upon my work, letting me incorporate them into my designs to keep things new and fun.

I am skilled with the Adobe Suites, especially in Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. I love to use them in my projects, whether its tweaking images or creating fun vectors to add in publications wherever I can. I'll never miss an opportunity to get creative in Illustrator and make exciting designs.

When I’m not busy with my studies, I’m exploring other creative outlets. I enjoy to draw on Procreate and occasionally dabble in basic coding. Drawing is one of my favourite pastimes, whether I’m sketching characters and people or trying my hand at landscapes and other settings. Though I'm not proficient in coding at the moment, it doesn't deter me from continuing to practice again and again until I get better at it.

Designing and creating has always been a huge part of my life, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me in the future.

Time Machine Zine

A Fast Fashion awareness brand that aims to teach and encourage the youth of today to shop thrift stores over new stores. For this project, a brand identity was created, along with a name and identifiable brand assets. To attract interest from the demographic, bold and grungy designs were utilised to appeal to as many thrifty shoppers as possible.

Dancing with Coronaspheres

This monothematic publication is based on Kate Elswit’s short essay about the effects of the pandemic on the public. The use of spiraling circles and the hard red against white is intended to create a distortion when looked at, making the viewer feel a little uneasy to convey Elswit’s words in a more powerful way.

I Spy the Problem

‘SeaSafe Australia’ wanted to bring awareness towards the issues of ocean pollution through an eye opening campaign. In this project, a campaign idea and tagline was created, along with accompanying instagram slides, website and merchandise. The campaign was intended to draw attention through the use of a classic game, and educate through its strong message.

State Library Annual Report

Showing the Library in a grungier way to represent the youth culture that exists around it. The black and yellow colours give the report a bolder outcome to truly follow the concept. With the assistance of specks that float around each page, it helps to capture the theme of the booklet.

Opal Coffee Roasts

Opal is a coffee brand that specialises in flavoured coffee pods. For this project a flowery style was chosen to convey a relaxed and tranquil feeling while holding a bit of edge to it. The gold and brown palette push the idea of this luxury coffee brand further, along with its cursive styles.
