Steven Huang

Steven Huang is a graphic designer and fine artist who loves turning ideas into visuals that speak. His work often blends design and art, exploring themes of identity, emotion, and human connection. He believes that design should not only look good but also carry meaning,  something that resonates with people and stays in their minds long after they’ve seen it.

Guided by curiosity and thought-driven experimentation, Steven approaches each project with a focus on storytelling and connection. Whether developing a brand identity, publication, or campaign, he begins by understanding the story behind it and how it can emotionally engage its audience. Alongside his design practice, he also creates fine art pieces,  mainly still life and portrait paintings. Which allow him to explore texture, tone, and composition on a more personal level. This artistic background deeply informs his design approach, helping him balance concept and emotion in every project.

Over time, Steven has developed a strong interest in branding and the ways visual identity can shape perception. Many of his projects reflect rebranding concepts to community-focused campaigns that use design to bring people together.

For Steven, both art and design are languages, ways to express emotion, values, and ideas beyond words. Through his work, he aims to create meaningful visual experiences that inspire reflection and connection.

Brisbane 2032 Olympics

As one of his dream projects, Steven chose to rebrand the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games for his capstone project. His visual identity system celebrates movement, diversity, and Australian culture through a vibrant color palette, mascot design, medals, and ticket designs.

Corona Extra

Steven photographed and designed this Corona Extra poster to reinterpret the brand’s message in his own way. By capturing the warm glow of the bottles and integrating them into an urban setting, he aimed to show how the brand’s relaxed spirit can exist even in the middle of city life.

MK Basketball

For MK Basketball Academy, Steven designed a modern uniform system that reflects teamwork, discipline, and precision. The logo was inspired by the letters M and K, merged with the shape of a Japanese shuriken to honour the founder’s culture and symbolise agility and sharp focus, qualities central to both the sport and the academy’s values.

OZ Hoops

Blending his passion for basketball and design, Steven created a festival guidebook inspired by the vibrant ’90s street basketball scene. The bold typography, textured visuals, and energetic layout capture the raw culture and expressive attitude that define the game’s golden era.

California Burgers

Steven photographed and designed this food magazine cover to capture the chaotic joy of American burger culture. Through bold typography, playful composition, and expressive imagery, he aimed to convey the humor, energy, and indulgence that make food such a visual experience.
