Hi I'm Robyn. I just finished my Bachelor of Communication Design and am working as a freelance designer. I am a mum of two, 5 year old and 2 year old. My kids are at the heart of my business goals, which is why I created Goatdog designs, as my daughter is a goat and my son is a dog in the Chinese Zodiacs. Studying at Swinburne was such a great experience for me, the Communication Design course has set me up with such a vast skill set that I think I could touch on so many different aspects of design and problem solving in general.

This work was part of my Capstone project. The client was Kew Toy Library and the issue was social isolation among parents, and single parents in particular. The response was to create the “ComeTogether” campaign, where the goal is to create an inclusive community to combat social isolation among single parents through toys.

There are two components within the strategy. The “Play App”, which is a digital space for members of the toy library to connect and learn about events. And the “Ice Cream Social”, to bring parents together, in a fun and relaxed environment. The overarching goal of the ComeTogether campaign is to raise awareness about the Toy Library and grow their membership base. The hope is for parents to socialize, connect, be part of the community, form networks, and in the end provide emotional support to one another.
