Brock O’Hara is a Melbourne based communication design graduate specialising in publication design, branding and identity design and digital illustration. His designs feature colour and texture as a hallmark of his design language, ranging from vector-based illustrations to digitally manipulated photography. With a background in clay portrait sculpture, Brock explores illustration and typography that is influenced by handmade qualities and surface texture, executed through digital tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, with designs that translate across both digital and print media. Although focused on more traditional areas of graphic design, Brock has a solid understanding of web design, with degree major units focused on user centred design including interface design, UI design and design for mobile devices. Further elective subjects have included foundation skills in Industrial Design including Product Design Studio and Product Communication, which developed valuable skills in ideation sketching, prototyping, model making and design history.
