Thank you for taking the time to read the small print - I’m Jackie Lin, soon to graduate with her highest degree in Interior Architecture. As a first-generation Australian raised by multilingual Chinese parents, they wanted me to inherit their traits and taught me to be fluent in Teochew, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Though not uncommon, I am a mentally and physically mature graduate, previously working full time in insurance broking specialising in construction insurance. After several years in the sector, I felt it was a time for change and followed my passion for designing interiors.
The next step in my career path is to enter a mid-size architecture firm to get a better understanding of drawing buildings with a range of multidisciplinary skills, while my long-term goal is to specialise in green buildings and help clients choose ethical and sustainable materials that will help future generations.
Through the years of studying, I’ve learned to use Revit well but I also worked with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and a couple of rendering programs. I’ve received a Letter of Commendation for my honours project and my WELL Standards project was displayed for Swinburne Open Day in 2020. I was also given the opportunity to work for an architectural studio and interior design firm that specialises in high-end accommodation design.
