Hi, I’m Bailey, a passionate communication design and marketing graduate from Swinburne University. I have always been captivated by the art of branding, publication design, and typography, and I thrive on being a conceptual designer who believes in the power of simplicity. Recently, I have had the opportunity to explore the realm of 3D rendering, which allowed me to further enhance my branding expertise in a new space. I am constantly seeking to acquire new skills that will enable me to communicate my designs with even greater effectiveness.

I have a love for the environment and especially the ocean, hence sustainability is very important to me and influences my designs. I hope that this will eventuate to working with clients that share the same values. When I'm not immersed in the world of design, you'll most likely find me at the beach, trying to catch a wave rain, hail, or shine.

Happy Go Lucky Brew Co

Happy Go Lucky Brew Co is a new brewery concept in Melbourne that aims to revolutionise sustainability by utilising refillable bottles for their inaugural beer. The square shape of these bottles also reduces energy consumption required for refrigeration. Moreover, when these bottles are returned, they contribute significantly lower emissions compared to other beverage containers. The target audience for this eco-conscious approach spans from 18 to 40 years, with Gen Z and millennials displaying a willingness to invest in sustainability. To evoke a sense of comfort and carefree spirit, the brand incorporates warm, earthy tones that align with the values of ease and a happy-go-lucky attitude. Additionally, the brand embraces a vintage aesthetic, paying homage to a time when refillable bottles were commonplace both in Australia and worldwide.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Reboot

The brief was to recreate a classic book, providing complete freedom in colour, imagery, formats, and materials. I chose to strip down Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, taking a minimal and text-based approach while incorporating selective bursts of vibrant colour. The design focused on Alice's transformative journey, mirroring her growth through adversity. Readers interact with the elements as they progress, just as Alice did, and the text gradually aligns with the grid, representing her evolving comprehension of Wonderland. The die-cut rabbit hole leads to a biographical card about Lewis Carroll, offering insight into the author's mindset.

Design Exchange

Design Exchange won a Merit award in the 2022 AGDA Design Awards for student brand and identity. It's a lecture series at Swinburne Design where industry professionals share their work and process followed by student Q&A sessions. My responsibilities included renaming the series, designing the brandmark, and creating promotional materials like banners, posters, and social media posts. The brandmark features abstract forms of the letters D and E, customized for each speaker and topic.

Trust Me

I designed a publication for the academic journal "Secrecy and the force of truth: countering post-truth regimes" by Susanne Krasmann. The brief allowed complete freedom in terms of colour, imagery, formats, and materials. To capture the themes of mistrust and secrecy, I used manipulated imagery, redacted text, and hidden elements. The design explores how post-truth regimes blur the line between fact and fiction, fostering skepticism. I manipulated images through duplication, blurring, overlays, and object removal, while employing Times New Roman and Courier typefaces for a vintage newspaper aesthetic. The publication aims to evoke a sense of distrust in today's easily altered information and images.

PodX

PodX is a Spotify podcast for design students at Swinburne University. It offers insights from a diverse panel of designers to help graduates navigate their early careers. I designed the logo with messaging app symbols, representing conversation through the letters P, O, and D. The episode covers feature gradients for a seamless transition on Spotify.
