Communication Design

Christopher is a multimedia design student, knows how to use various basic design software through which is enough to design various things like graphics, branding, photo editing and video editing. Due to his love for drawing, he focuses on designing 2d animated characters and graphic illustrations for people. In this topic, he likes to experiment with drawings and pictures to express the story behind the design, like making it easy for the reader to understand what the design is about. Christopher is able to experiment and apply different styles in various projects that will showcase the work he has done such as; illustration, 3D modeling, graphic design and magazine design. Christopher is always demanding of himself in order to progress and needs a cup of Milo while working in order to focus and continue to create stories.

CNY Reunion Dinner

This is 3D space to create a 3D living room, the idea is a cozy family once a year together to share a reunion
dinner, whether it is to go abroad to study college students or foreign work workers, in fact, they are very eager to go back to their hometown. Through the CNY, Chinese families can have this opportunity to return to their hometowns and communicate with their families.

“Last Hope” Game Design

The entire world is consumed by ink, including all of the protagonist’s brothers. He decides to take
responsibility for his actions, find his brothers, and get rid of the monster he created.

“Sweetness” Fomt it in Instagram

The intention of this design is to convey the softness and sweetness of grapes. This will be expressed through the beauty of the shine.

“Little Hand” Brand Design

The target audience is children, who are imaginative and easily attracted to cartoons and can draw knowledge
and the history of Sarawak from its cultural brand.

“A Little Bit of The Street” Magazine design

The magazines have documented and signboard Kuching Jalan Padungan with some small stories and history,
the main thing is still the cat statue and mural sources that can be seen in this small street.

We are dedicated to the notion of design to make a better world and we acknowledge that making tools, shaping place, sharing stories, making meaning, wayfinding and collaborating have long been and continue to be both central and integral to First Peoples' cultures. We recognize that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ cultural contributions have continued relevance to design practice and commit to: reconciling ancestries of design and contemporary practice as well as pursuing culturally and professionally appropriate ways to engage with a diverse population of colleagues, industries and clients. In a time of treaty-making and voice we understand that there are overlaps between caring for Country and the sustainable production of goods, services, experiences, products and buildings.

Guided by the principles of respect, reconciliation, and reciprocity we undertake to indigenising and decolonising design practice by dismantling colonial structures and challenging biases that have marginalised Indigenous voices and design.

As students of SoDA you will be given opportunities to both engage with and educate yourself in Indigenous creative practices and cultural protocols through a lens of inclusivity, diversity, respect, mutual understanding, inter-cultural dialogue in all aspects of design practice. Indigenous people have been telling stories, making tools, and connecting to Country through visual media, placemaking and place marking for more than 60,000 years and these practices are part of an ongoing, evolving and live tradition.
