Kaylee Launder is a design student at Swinburne, who is currently completing a degree majoring in both Communication Design and Photomedia.

Her university years have equipped her with skills and applied knowledge ready for industry. Where she has built expertise in areas of brand and identity design, packaging design, and product photography. She hopes to continue to work in these design fields once she has completed her university course.

Kaylee’s learnings in those fields of design have led her to develop passions in each skillset. Within her photography works you will find she approaches her pieces with careful planning, formation of crafted set designs, use of colour, light and creative approaches. With the aim of developing unique outcomes and bodies of work that evoke certain emotions and resonate with the audience. In her design pieces you will regularly see her passion for working with clipping masks, colour, and texture.

Kaylee is also passionate about designing for a purpose, addressing current social issues and understanding cultural environments and spaces in which the design work is being displayed. Sustainability and inclusivity formulate a key part of her photography and design work and are important values to her.

When Kaylee isn’t going about her photography and design work or going down a creative tangent. You will find her spending time with her cat Siena and dog Mochi.

My Body & Mind Eclipsed Me

A body of work that explores a personal account of Kaylee’s relationship with autoimmune conditions. Using photography to raise awareness about the topic by making the invisible visible, through a series of emotive still life and nature photographs.

Moki’s Matcha

Brand and packaging design for Moki’s Matcha, which is a flavoured matcha brand. The design outcome combines a fusion of traditional Japanese elements with the modern artistic city scape of Melbourne. Incorporated into the design is the brands values of accessibility and sustainability.

Emma Classic Reboot

A classic reboot project of Emma by Jane Austen, with the purpose of reinventing the narrative to a contemporary enclosure, collaterals, and publication design. The themes of the novel are conveyed through varying illustrations of insects and an evolving monochromatic blue colour palette.

Daisy Product Photography

Involved creating an advertising poster for Marc Jacob’s Daisy perfume. In which the product photography looked to convey aspects of the brand, which is both elegant yet joyous, whilst being clean and minimalistic. To convey this the photography captures a dream like and ethereal feel.

Tatcha Product Photography

Advertising product photography for the brand Tatcha, that aims to capture the brands ethos surrounding their hydrating and dewy skincare range that’s formulated with organic Japanese ingredients. This being captured through a combination of natural and enchanted elements.
